Close to 25,000 Left Without Electricity in South-East Queensland and Victoria Following Intense Weather Systems
Approximately 25,000 residences in Queensland's southeast woke up experiencing outages on Monday morning after intense storm systems passed over the state, bringing strong winds topping 109 kilometers per hour.
Massive Frozen Precipitation and Widespread Damage
Homeowners reported substantial frozen pellets as large as seven centimeters in some areas. The Bureau of Meteorology announced that various areas across Queensland had been affected by large hailstones.

Utility workers were working to restore electricity service throughout the impacted areas, with approximately seventy teams deployed to manage the extensive power failures.
Southern State's Weather Woes
Meanwhile, nearly 1,000 residents in the southern state also encountered electricity disruptions after the metropolitan area saw its most precipitation in 18 months.
Emergency response teams received 598 requests for assistance across the region, mostly for structural issues but also for collapsed vegetation and inundation.

- Wyndham - 179 emergency requests
At one point on yesterday, more than 28,000 energy customers in the state were without power.
Weather Forecast
Moist weather were predicted to continue along much of eastern Queensland this week as a atmospheric system continued to attract humidity against the shoreline.
Tuesday was expected to become the most rainy day, with persistent storm activity predicted across different parts of both areas.
Medical Alert
Public health experts alerted that there was an increased chance of epidemic thunderstorm asthma across the countryside regions, particularly given the existing atmospheric conditions.
This warning comes after past events where similar conditions led to substantial respiratory problems in the state.
